Question : I found a rabbit in my moms front yard leaning against a tree , ears down and looking scared. I gave him water and some lettice and carrats and he ate them all up . Fearing the dogs in the neighborhood we but him in her back yard with lots of water and the above mentioned food . He hides behinds bushes with his ears down . I am sure he is or her very scared so how do I find a good home and should I have him looked by a veterinarianr. We have a dog so I do not thik it would be good for us to keep him.
Answer :
What color is this rabbit? Have you put up signs around the neighborhood, called your local veterinarians and SPCA to see if anyone lost a rabbit? If you could approach him, he is likely to be someone’s pet, not a wild rabbit. He may even have microchip! You need to treat him like any lost dog and let people know he has been found. Hopefully you will find his owners soon. Meanwhile you are doing a good job giving him carrots, though lettuce isn’t very healthy. Most other greens are fine and he can graze in the backyard as well. You can even collect dandelions for him.
